About the Exam
The Indian Air Force invites Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of this elite force as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches through the AFCAT 02/2026 recruitment cycle. Online AFCAT examination will be conducted on 08 Aug 26 (Saturday). Candidates are to ensure their eligibility for the examination, as follows:-
- Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination.
- Their admission at all the stages of examination viz. Written examination and AFSB test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
📌 Eligibility Criteria
Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Special Entry): Ages 20–24 years (as of July 1, 2027). Requires \(10+2\) with a minimum of 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics, and a minimum of a 3-year Graduation degree (with at least 60% marks) or a 4-year B.E./B.Tech degree.
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) / GATE Score Entry: Ages 20–26 years (as of July 1, 2027). Specific educational requirements (e.g., specific engineering disciplines for Aeronautical Engineering or graduation with minimum 60% marks for Administration/Logistics) depend on the exact sub-branch.

Application Window: Registration opens on May 20, 2026, and closes on June 19, 2026.
Application Fee: ₹550 plus GST for AFCAT entry. Registration is free for NCC Special Entry and GATE Score Entry candidates.
Course Commencement: Training begins in July 2027 at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal.
