HP Home Guard Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Department of Home Guards, Himachal Pradesh, has announced a recruitment drive for 700 Home Guard Volunteer posts across the state. This is an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to serve the community and build a career in public safety. The application process is completely online, and the last date to apply has been extended to 7th April 2026.

• General Duty Home Guard (Men): 358 Posts
• General Duty Home Guard (Women): 167 Posts
• Bandmen: 74 Posts
• Home Guard Volunteer Drivers: 76 Posts
• Technical Tradesmen: 25 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria as of 1st January 2026:

• Age Limit: 18 to 50 Years.
• Educational Qualification: 10+2 (Intermediate) for General Duty and Bandmen; 10th (Matriculation) with a valid driving license for Drivers; 10th with an ITI Certificate in a relevant trade for Technical Tradesmen.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises multiple stages to ensure physical and mental fitness:

• Stage 1: Physical Standard Test (PST)
• Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
• Stage 3: Written Examination (50 Marks)
• Stage 4: Marks Distribution (Weightage for NCC, Sports, Qualifications)
• Stage 5: Basic Training
